Smooth turn over
Chikoo has been trying to turn over for the last few weeks. As a fluke he does manage to turn over sometimes, but he does not know how to repeat it. He tries it only when he is generally at peace with the world and there are not any admirers hanging around, being charmed by him.
So it is that we watch with lots of amusement his sporadic attemps to turn over and lie on his tummy.. D tells me he tries it in his sleep as he does not want to waste any time even then! He rolls over sideways and takes a break and amuses himself by putting his entire fist in his mouth. Then he tries to to egg himself and gets his other hand squeezed underneath. He whimpers and screams alternatively so that one of us gently pulls his hand out .He immediately raises his head so high that we are afraid he will hit his face when he cannot hold his head. He is fascinated by the different sights that he is able to see in that pose, saliva drooling all over.
Today morning he had got up after a short nap and had three pillows all stacked around him. He made a smooth turnover and a smoother pulling away of his other hand and was looking at me casually. I just stood there so happy to see him make such a fine act. He did it once more and it looked so simple! It just goes to show a perfect performance looks so easy, but has lots and lots of effort and practice.
In the afternoon he turned over and made a few frantic efforts to move forward. The bedsheets were getting in the way but he made slight progress.
Today he completed four months. It is as though he is telling us that he is a big boy now and is actually mobile!
God bless.
