Me too
Mondays mornings are very relaxed time in the club where i go for my gym and kumar goes for his tennis.Mondays used to be holidays earlier, hence a languid spirit pervades the environment.I find it quite refreshing to witness the low key activity on the courts.
I spotted the marker but in a totally different outfit. For him Monday mornings are 'dressing up' i guess! He was in a colourfully designed red t shirt and an off white cotton trousers.A broad belt stylishly worn with a mobile tucked away in a pouch. His normal confident strides appeared more confident to me today.
Looking at him nobody will know he is a sixth standard drop out and a marker in a tennis court. He could be easily mistaken for any white collar worker on a 'dressing down' mode.
Another incident caught my attention. While we were entering the club, the assistant marker was playing singles with a senior player and was arguing passionately about a point!I need to mention here that usually the picker boys and markers do step in to toss or play with a regular player.I thought that they do it more as a job than as play. I have seen any number of players getting into passionate discussion about a point during their game. And i saw this person also mirroring their behaviour.
I was thinking of this while doing my workout and was happy about the outcome of the analysis. With cable television, aspirational levels have risen dramatically across all strata. And what i witnessed was the 'me too' phenomenon being played out!!
