evening in kamaraj hall
Had an invite to attend an evening of light music in kamaraj hall.Been quite a while since i attended any live music programme.So made a go at it.was quite happy i could make it though.The songs were quite popular ones(it has to be..)and the singers sang exactly as they do in the movies.Kural apdiye irundudu.Amazing.Such talent available for the asking.Chandramukhi film has a soft music ...Konjaneram konjaneram...that was rendered so well, i really felt i was listening to a cd!some old songs were also sung,mounama,mouname pesuma,which is SPB's fav.One hour passed quite easily with foottapping and clapping alternatively.

Yeah now a days kids are really talented. Me and sham keep saying this to each other. About that konja neram song the original is sung by Asha bhonsle. I was hearing it one day in the car radio in K.L. I could make out that it was not a tamilian who is singing it. (Then I found out it was Asha Bhonsle) Though the voice is melodius I am some how not for the people who don't know the language to sing as the pronounciation is not smooth and it is jarring. it reminds me of the song in the film Run 'Parrruvayillai' something which is song by somebody who does not know tamil. You hear that song and you will understand what I mean
today was "run" playing on sun tv in the eve.But the fervour of vinayaka chaturthi made us all give it a miss.Yeah i have heard that song;somehow the anti sentiment appealed to me more than the irritation of pronouncing it incorrectly.All the anchor persons in all the tamil channels pronounce bad tamil.I compulsoily watch them at the gym.sam is amazed at my tolerance limit!
